Not every couple fits neatly into a traditional wedding package—and honestly, why should you?
You may want your dog beside you. You may want food from your favorite restaurant instead of a formal catered dinner. Maybe you want to skip traditions that mean nothing to you, invite fewer people, arrange the day differently or spend more time on the parts you actually care about.
Some traditional venues offer plenty of flexibility. Others have set packages, approved vendors, fixed timelines and rules that leave very little room to make the wedding your own.
A DIY wedding can give you more creative control. You get to choose the place, the people, the traditions and the feeling of the day. That doesn’t mean every idea will be practical—or that every location can safely accommodate everything you want—but you have more freedom to decide what matters and build from there.
The goal isn’t to make your wedding different just for the sake of being different. It’s to create a wedding that feels comfortable, personal and recognizably yours.
Sometimes that means handmade decorations or an unusual venue.
Sometimes it simply means making sure your dog gets to come.
